In order to achieve these goals, we have devised a number of assessment strategies to identify ways to improve the project and ultimately help determine whether or not the project met our end goals. In order to figure out if the public speaker events and increased social media presence increased the number of participating stakeholders, we are suggesting updating the Collaborative’s meeting notes to be taken and uploaded as was done until August 2018. As these notes identify individuals present and their acting capacity, this will allow for the participants to be counted and their specific role as stakeholders to be identified. Additionally, social media content will demonstrate the outcomes of our engagement project.
To address goals #2 and #3, we are suggesting that a survey be developed and distributed to participants once before the start of the public speaker events and a number of times after. This will allow future project leaders to gauge whether any increase in the understanding of the fundamental science related to specific Forest Service’s programs occurred, and to what extent. It would also allow project leaders to determine whether or not the stakeholders feel that their ability to effectively communicate with each other has increased.
