Through our project, we would like to honor Green Empowerment’s values of partnership, engagement, capacity building, and impact expansion. Consequently, our goals correlate directly to these four values. Our goals for this project are to:
- Build partnerships by sharing various perspectives on the work Green Empowerment (GE) does through the use of videos which take a look into what each actor is responsible for. This would help build partnerships by not only informing potential partners, but also through creating a level of trust through the transparency of the videos, especially if we can include perspective of people in the beneficiary communities.
- Encourage engagement through the creation of these videos, which will show the people of the beneficiary countries how valuable their work is. This point is applicable depending on whether we are able to include them in the videos, considering this can be difficult to achieve, logistically speaking. The ultimate outcome GE would get out of this is hopefully potential partners gaining trust that GE is truly wanting the best for the beneficiary community, and is not going in with some sort of ulterior motive (a fear for many, I imagine).
- Enable further capacity building by holding fundraising events, hosted by Lewis & Clark students, in which all proceeds raised go directly towards GE projects. By raising more money, beneficiary communities will be able to receive more funds, allowing the individuals and organizations to obtain, improve, and retain the skills, knowledge, tools, equipment and other resources needed to fulfil the tasks at hand to a greater capacity.
- Facilitate impact expansion by educating people in the Portland area about the work GE does through holding informational events. At these events, hopefully, the videos mentioned previously will be displayed and Q & A sessions will be held to make sure people have a clear idea of GE’s work, intentions, and background.
